The only kale smoothie recipe you’ll ever need: not only good for you, but also delicious! This detoxifying protein-packed green smoothie tastes amazingly refreshing and only takes 5 minutes to make!
This is my first post in 2017 and I’m excited to go back to blogging (although still part-time) now, when I have a two-week old baby at home! If you follow me on Instagram and/ or Facebook, you know that we got an early Christmas gift: or son Alexander was born on December 22, 2 weeks before the term. He is a healthy, calm and cute baby, and I feel blessed for having him.
I didn’t actually think that I would recover so fast and be able to blog even for a few hours per day but here I am, writing a blog post about my favorite green smoothie, while my baby is sleeping. I can’t be grateful enough for having my husband beside me, helping me and supporting me through the whole pregnancy and even more now, when our son is born.
On this picture you can still see my 38 weeks bump, which is completely gone by now.
I still accept guest contributors for my blog, so if you’d like to write a guest post on Happy Kitchen.Rocks, just write me an email 😉
Many of us are in the detoxing mood after holidays, myself included. As a breastfeeding mom, I have to get enough nutrients every day, so fruit and vegetables are my primary sources of nutrition. Leafy greens are known for their bitter taste, which is the reason why most of the green smoothies are a bit bitter and, let’s be honest, very few of them taste good. This delicious smoothie breaks this rule, thanks to a few add-ons I will introduce you to.
How To Make Delicious Kale Smoothie
I added banana to this kale smoothie for the creamy consistency, peanut butter and maple syrup for a little sweet touch, lemon juice for a tart note and almond milk to thin it all up. Just blend all the ingredients in a blender (I use Philips Avance Collection Glass Jar Smoothie), add a bit of ice or water to adjust the consistency and a pinch of salt to balance the taste. Enjoy it for breakfast or any time you feel like you are getting hungry.
Nutritional Benefits of Delicious Kale Smoothie
Kale is a real nutritional powerhouse, being packed with unique nutrients such as powerful antioxidants, lutein, vitamin A, C and most importantly vitamin K, as well as iron, calcium, dietary fiber, while containing zero calories.
That is to say, kale is good for your immune system, healthy metabolism, digestion, eye, bone and cardiovascular health, proper liver function and low cholesterol level.
Moreover, kale has anti-inflammatory and cancer-preventive properties, being a great source of nutrients most people don’t get enough of. Last but not least, thanks to its fiber and protein content, essential for weight loss, it helps you to get rid of extra pounds you got during holidays and to detoxify your body.
Other ingredients in this delicious kale smoothie are also rich in nutrients, vitamins and protein. With that being said, if you care about your health but are tired of healthy but not tasty green smoothies, try this delicious kale smoothie and never look back! Another surprisingly delicious option would be this Broccoli Detox Smoothie.
