One of the most important things for me at the moment is to stay healthy through the winter. With flu and cold season usually peaking in January and February, it's really important to include as much immune boosting food in your diet as you can.

To help you meet your New Year's resolutions and stay healthy try this magic sea buckthorn tea. Nice bonus: It is delicious too!

Health Benefits of Sea Buckthorn Tea

Thanks to its high vitamin, mineral, antioxidant, protein and fiber content, sea buckthorn is one of the most nutrient-dense and vitamin-rich foods in the world. It's widely popular in Russia as a natural remedy against cold and flu.

Other health properties of this magic berry include weight loss, anti-aging abilities, brain and digestive health, inflammation control and infection cure, among others.

Sea buckthorn prevents the storage of excess fat in the body, decreasing your risk of diabetes and cardiovascular disease and helping you maintaining a healthy weight.

Thanks to its high vitamin C content, sea buckthorn helps building collagen in your cells, keeping your skin healthy and elastic and giving your face a natural glow. It also reduces skin irritation, redness and itchiness and facilitates healing.

Where to Find Sea Buckthorn

Since fresh sea buckthorn berries might not be available in your region, you can order sea buckthorn juice online (thanks, Amazon!). For frozen berries check your local Russian or Polish store (that's where I found them!).

You can also use sea buckthorn berry oil for both internal and external use or try food supplements with sea buckthorn  This magic berry will support your health and make your skin glow! 😉

How to Make Magic Sea Buckthorn Tea

If you are using frozen berries like I did, thaw them before using and discard any broken ones. Transfer to a tea can and muddle the berries with a pestle until the juice is released. Add cinnamon sticks. Pour boiling water into the tea can and let rest for 5 minutes. Strain and serve with a teaspoon of honey per cup. Enjoy!

This is so tasty! We've had a few branches of sea buckthorn in our freezer for six months! So today was the day I fetched a branch and strained it into this delicious winter warmer. YUM! We foraged them at our nearby beach.
